Now I've seen it all -- I saw this nice looking tractor mowing along side the road. Looked closer of course, just to see what it was. A nice looking John Deere 4100 -- covered with what looked by Kubota Orange paint, and of course properly labeled "John Deere!" It turned out to be a California CalTrans maintenance crew. I didn't try to figure out if the paint made it mow better or worse. It didn't look natural though. Nothing against Orange paint ... it just didn't look right. LOL. JonB

The reason for the orange paint is so they can find it in the tall grass after it brakes down. Now Kubota paints thier tractors orange so the state highway dept. don't have to repaint them. Also the match the sunset when riding into it! ....

Von, remember this is the "golden state." The grass grows golden ... at least once we're in May and the green disappears. LOL. And I doubt they ever see the sunset. Since they're driven by state employees, they probably turn the key off at 4 so they'll be home by 5! ....
